Sr. UNIX System AdministratorSR. UNIX SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR
Position Description
The System Administrator will work with the Sysadmin, Engineering and Configuration Management teams maintain the hardware, software and network related to the product and company IT needs. Other duties will include 24x7 on call support and occassional after hours deployment support.
Responsibilties
- Code projects - design and implement VMIX platform
- Troubleshoot UNIX/Linux OS with expert
- Troubleshoot Apache HTTPd Server, PHP, Perl and other CGI
- Provide daily management of systems infrastructure to ensure application service availability
- Work with business unit teams to add, modify, and upgrade the system
- Develop, implement, and maintain application deployment strategy, policy and procedures
- Monitor and control system availability
- Will take lead on one or many enterprise applications
- Comply with established company policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety and environmental standards
- Other projects or duties as required
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Bachelors degree in CS/CIS/MIS or equivalent work experiences
- Minimum 5 years relevant professional work experience
- Expert level skills in UNIX/Linux OS, Apache HTTPd, problem troubleshooting and performance tuning
- Work history with internet scale & enterprise products is a plus
