vMix 25 goes local with LiveLAN

Throughout the pandemic vMix has been able to help connect people from all around the world through live video. With vMix 25 and LiveLAN, producers will now be able to do this much more easily on a local level. LiveLAN is a new feature in vMix 25 that connects a vMix production output to the local network. Instead of needing to stream out to a 3rd party streaming provider, content can be displayed on the local network by a browser!

LiveLAN is the perfect solution for anyone looking to utilise their local network for streaming. It’s a great option for school and university classrooms, overflow rooms, and town hall meetings. LiveLAN simply requires a modern browser capable of displaying HTML 5 video! This means that it can be viewed on smart phones, tablets, laptops, computers and even newer Smart TVs. Viewing local content has always been an issue, but now with LiveLAN it’s as easy as entering a URL on your device!

vMix 25 also makes copying your vMix presets to another computer much simpler! With preset bundles, the preset AND vMix assets can be saved to a file. This can then be copied to another vMix computer and loaded for a seamless duplicate of the original.

“We’ve recently spent a lot of time focussing on the global live streaming world and we knew that it was time to get back to the grassroots of live video”, said vMix Senior Systems Engineer, Heath “Pumpkin” Barker. “We’re excited about enabling local communities, schools, business places and houses of worship to easily spread their message via their local network with LiveLAN.”

This release also has a number a productivity updates including-

  • Increased categories
  • The Output Input
  • Colour changing titles
  • Advanced AJA device integration
  • NDI 5
  • + much more!
